I explained why that technique doesn't work with our carpet backing, but his wife agreed with him, turning it into a debate. I stayed patient and showed them the maker's sheet. Talking about 'learning from TV' makes it sound more important than it is. These shows are really just for fun, not for serious lessons. I doubt any of them are worth getting upset about.
