DAE get homeowners who learn from TV and argue during the job?

I was laying a plush carpet in a den last month when the homeowner, who'd seen a DIY show, kept insisting my seam method was wrong. It got uncomfortable when he showed me a video on his phone. I explained why that technique doesn't work with our carpet backing, but his wife agreed with him, turning it into a debate. I stayed patient and showed them the maker's sheet. They apologized later, but it wasted an hour. So, a warning to have your specs ready to avoid these talks.

Wait, they said these shows are just for fun? That's wild. Some of these reality competition shows are basically master classes in stress. Trying to learn anything from the judging panels alone would give anyone a migraine.

Talking about 'learning from TV' makes it sound more important than it is. These shows are really just for fun, not for serious lessons. I doubt any of them are worth getting upset about.
