How I stopped fighting door frames and saved 45 minutes per room
Used to spend forever trimming carpet around door frames with a manual knee kicker and a hook knife, jamming my fingers every time. Finally switched to a pneumatic carpet stretcher with a trim tool attachment about 5 months ago. Now I cut the carpet oversized, stretch it tight, then trim flush with a power cutter instead of hand trimming. That old method left me with frayed edges and uneven seams near doorways half the time. What's your go-to approach for getting clean cuts around tight corners without wrecking the carpet?

Italian" is right, this is just like arguing about pipe wrenches vs strap wrenches on finish work. People get attached to their tools and forget both methods work if you're patient.

Gotta disagree a bit here. That pneumatic setup sounds great for production work but I've found a good manual knee kicker and a sharp pair of shears gives me cleaner results in tight doorways without the risk of gouging the jamb.
