I finally looked up the actual tensile strength of carpet tape

Was reading a spec sheet from a supplier in Calgary and found out basic seam tape holds like 40 pounds per inch of width. Makes you wonder why we still bother with kickers on stairs when that stuff does half the work already.

Makes you wonder why they still sell kickers if tape was actually enough.

yeah I just grabbed some gorilla tape and it held fine for like a year... never bothered with a kicker honestly.
