That time a lady's cat walked across my wet glue and left paw prints in the master bedroom in Dallas

Customer swore her cat was locked in the bathroom but somehow that little escape artist got out and stamped a perfect trail across fresh tack strip glue, now I double check every latch and door before I pour any adhesive, has anyone else dealt with an animal sneaking into a work area?

Did you end up leaving the paw prints or did they do a patch job? I had a similar thing happen with wet mortar for a brick repair, and I learned the hard way that those little blue tape strips are a lifesaver if you stick them across any latch or crack an animal might squeeze through.

Three years ago a neighbor's golden retriever pushed open a half-latched gate and walked straight through my fresh concrete pour for a backyard path. I was inside mixing a second batch and came back to find dog paw prints perfectly stamped every few inches like some kind of intentional art piece. The homeowner actually thought it looked rustic and asked me to leave them in. Now I'm paranoid about every gate, door, and window latch before I mix anything wet or sticky. I've started carrying a roll of blue painters tape to seal up any gaps or handles that might accidentally open. Your cat story makes me feel way less alone in this weirdly specific kind of disaster.
