That warehouse carpet job from last fall still haunts me...
Did a 12,000 square foot warehouse in Austin back in October. Old carpet looked fine from far away, but up close it was stained and worn to hell. Owner wanted the cheap stuff, so we laid down a basic loop pile. Three months later I drove by and saw huge wrinkles near the loading dock. Humidity and heavy cart traffic made it buckle. Anyone else see cheap carpet fail fast in commercial spaces?

... I mean, wrinkles near a loading dock after three months, that's kind of expected with cheap stuff and heavy traffic, isn't it? People act like spending bottom dollar on a warehouse floor is some kind of crime, but the owner got exactly what they paid for... a basic loop pile isn't built for that kind of abuse. Unless you're seeing the carpet literally falling apart, it just sounds like normal wear and tear to me. Seems like a lot of drama over something that was probably a budget decision from the start.

Oh, you said "bottom dollar" and that just took me back to this whole thing my cousin dealt with last year. She bought this super cheap laminate for her little home office, you know, the kind that's basically cardboard with a picture of wood on top? She was so proud of how it looked for like a week, and then her desk chair started leaving these little black scuff marks that would not come off. She tried everything, even that magic eraser stuff (which actually just took the finish off, oops). Anyway, she got exactly what she paid for, which is pretty much the same as that warehouse floor with the wrinkles. People forget that "budget friendly" often means "friendly to your wallet, but mean to your expectations.
