The $20 seam roller I almost skipped turned out to be a lifesaver on a tricky job in Phoenix

I was grabbing supplies for a large bedroom install last week and saw this cheap seam roller on the clearance rack at the supply house. Figured it was probably junk like most budget tools, but tossed it in the cart anyway because my main one was getting worn. Ended up using it to press down a tricky transition where the old roller was too wide to fit in the gap. Has anyone else found a random cheap tool that actually worked better than expected?

Are we really calling a $20 clearance rack find a lifesaver now? A seam roller is a seam roller as long as it rolls straight and doesn't fall apart. I'm glad it worked for your tight spot, but let's not pretend this is some kind of tool miracle.

Clearance rack tools are usually just cheap junk that barely works.
