TIL a simple door frame cut took me 2 hours when it should have been 15 minutes
I was fitting carpet in a bedroom in a house built in the 70s (you know, with that weird angled door trim) and my power stretcher kept slipping. Turns out the subfloor had a slight hump I didn't notice until I re-did the cut three times. Anyone else run into hidden floor issues that make a simple job drag out forever?

That "three hours on a door" part hits hard, @torres.elizabeth. I really feel for your buddy, it's so frustrating when you put in all that work only to find a mouse nest.

That 70s trim is a nightmare, my last rental had the same thing. I finally just marked the cut with a contour gauge instead of measuring and it saved me from redoing it twice. Hard to beat old school tricks for hidden floor bumps.
