Appreciation post: my kid told me my chili tasted like 'sad beans,' so I started browning the meat first
I was dumping everything in the pot at once and calling it done. My 10 year old put it plain: 'the meat is gray and the beans are sad.' So now I brown a pound of ground beef in a dry skillet for 6 minutes before it goes in, and it costs nothing extra. Any other cheap tricks that make a $6 pot of chili taste like more than $6?
