Bought a 2lb bag of dried black beans for $1.79 two months ago, still eating off em

Before that I was spending $3 a can on beans at the store near my place in Austin, now I soak a cup each Sunday and get like 6 servings out of it. Has anyone else noticed how much cheaper dried beans are or am I just late to the game?

You been sleeping on dried beans this whole time? My buddy Mike in the breakroom at my old job was the exact same way, buying canned chili beans for like $3.50 each until his abuela visited and showed him a bag of dried pintos she got for a buck twenty. He soaked a whole batch one Sunday and told me it stretched to like 8 meals over two weeks with rice. I think @jordan305 nailed it - grandmas been running a secret bean tutorial for decades and we just never asked.
