Bought a $30 countertop grill from a garage sale and spent $18 on meat that tasted like lighter fluid
I grabbed a used George Foreman grill at a garage sale in Reno for $30, thinking I'd save money on dinners. I spent another $18 on chicken and burgers, but the nonstick coating was scratched to hell and everything came out tasting like burnt chemicals. Some folks say old grills are fine if you scrub them, others say toss anything with flaking coating. What's your cutoff for buying used kitchen stuff at sales?
