Found a $1.50 gadget that changed my meal prep game last Tuesday
I was at a little Asian grocery store near my place in Phoenix last week and grabbed this weird plastic veggie slicer for like a buck fifty. It's basically a mandoline but super simple, just a flat piece with raised blades. I used it to shred three carrots and two zucchinis in under two minutes for stir fry. It beats using a knife and it's way cheaper than the $20 ones at Target. Cleaning it takes five seconds under hot water. I'm curious if anyone else has scored good kitchen tools at random markets for next to nothing.

Whoa, a buck fifty for a gadget that actually works and doesn't fall apart after one use? That's basically the holy grail of thrift shopping right there. I'd probably end up cutting my finger off within the first 30 seconds just to balance out the good luck though.

My buddy Sarah snagged a $2 blender there. Lasted one smoothie then smoked out her whole kitchen.
