Frozen veggies vs fresh for budget meals - which side are you on?
I've been trying to cut my grocery bill for about 3 months now. Everyone says fresh is better but frozen broccoli is $1.50 a bag and fresh is $3.50 for the same amount. I made a stir fry last week using frozen mixed veggies and honestly couldn't tell the difference after I cooked it. But then I tried frozen spinach in a pasta dish and it turned into a watery mess. What's your rule for when frozen is worth it and when fresh is the only way to go?

Man, I've been there too! My rule is frozen is great for anything you're gonna cook through like stir fries or soups, but for stuff you want to stay crisp or fresh tasting like salads or pasta toppings, fresh is the way to go. What really helped me was keeping frozen broccoli and peas on hand for quick meals, but buying fresh spinach and bell peppers in small amounts so nothing goes bad before I use it.

Wait, do people actually use frozen stuff in salads? I feel like that's just sad soggy lunch vibes lol.
