I don't get why everyone pushes meal prepping on Sunday as the only way to save money.

Last month I tried that whole Sunday meal prep thing after hearing it praised for years. Spent $45 on ingredients and 4 hours cooking, only to have everything taste bland by Wednesday. I'd rather just buy a $5 rotisserie chicken and some frozen vegetables on my way home each day - saves time and I waste less food. Am I missing something or does anyone else find prepping ahead just doesn't work for real life?

Right there with you. I tried it twice and both times ended up throwing half of it out because I just didn't want to eat the same dry chicken and rice for four days straight. The rotisserie chicken and frozen veggies thing is way more practical for how most people actually live and eat. Meal prep sounds great on paper but in reality it just creates a lot of pressure and waste for no good reason.

There's a pattern in a lot of self-improvement stuff where people plan for their best possible self but forget they're still just a regular tired person at 7pm on a Wednesday. The whole thing works great if you have zero other responsibilities and never get bored of repetition, but real life usually gets in the way. Most good habits only stick when they leave some room for being lazy or having a burger occasionally.
