I finally stopped buying pre-cut veggies after a $9 mistake in Denver
Last month I grabbed a bag of pre-chopped onions and peppers for fajitas, paid $8.99 at the store near my work. Got home, opened it, and half the bag was slimy ends I had to throw out. Now I buy a whole onion for 50 cents and a pepper for 80 cents, chop them in 10 minutes while my rice cooks. The waste and price just stopped making sense for my $40 a week food budget. Has anyone else noticed the markup on convenience stuff like that getting way worse lately?
