I hit $20 a week on groceries and it blew my mind

I used to think eating cheap meant ramen and pbj every day. But after I started tracking my spending, I hit $20 a week for my meals last month. That number surprised me because I was still eating real food like eggs, rice, beans, and frozen veggies. What changed was I started buying whole chickens instead of breasts and stretching them into three meals. I also cut out all snacks and made my own popcorn for way less. Has anyone else hit a crazy low grocery number that changed how you shop?

Focus on buying in bulk with friends to split costs and share portions.

Cutting out snacks isn't real life for most people, I'd go crazy without a little junk.
