My $3 rice cooker insert is the real MVP of cheap meal prep
Bought a spare insert for my 10-year-old rice cooker at a thrift store for $3, now I can cook beans and rice at the same time without wiping out my whole Sunday, anyone else double up on cheap kitchen tools?

Man, I did this exact thing with my slow cooker last year and it changed everything. Bought a second stoneware insert at a yard sale for like five bucks and now I can prep a week of chili and a batch of shredded chicken at the same time on Sundays. The whole trick is just having that spare part so you don't have to wait for one batch to finish before starting the next. Plus if one insert gets scratched up or stained, you've always got a backup that still looks decent. The cheap kitchen tool hack is real, once you get that extra piece you wonder why you didn't do it years ago. Good call picking the rice cooker insert too, since those things take forever when you're doing big batches.
