My buddy claimed you could freeze cheese and I was skeptical
Last month my buddy Dave told me to buy a 5 pound block of cheddar from Costco when it was on sale for $11 and just freeze what I didn't use. I figured it would turn into a crumbly mess but I tried it anyway. Threw half the block in the freezer wrapped in plastic and forgot about it for three weeks. Pulled it out last night and grated it over tacos and it was totally fine, no weird texture or taste. Saved me at least $8 compared to buying pre-shredded bags. Anyone else have a freezer hack that actually works?

Man, I tried freezing mozzarella once and it looked like a hockey puck that got left in the sun. Still tasted fine on pizza though. Your mileage may vary, but sometimes you just gotta roll the dice on frozen dairy.

Your mileage may vary, but sometimes you just gotta roll the dice on frozen dairy" is a good way to put it, man. I mean is it really that big of a deal? I froze some shredded mozzarella once and it clumped up like crazy but once I spread it on a frozen pizza it melted fine. People act like you committed a crime if your cheese texture changes a little bit but it still tastes the same. Unless you're eating it straight out of the bag it probably doesn't matter.
