My neighbor convinced me that store-bought stock is fine

I was bragging to my neighbor Frank about making my own chicken stock from scratch for $2 a batch. He just shrugged and said he buys the boxed stuff for $1.50 and spends the extra time actually cooking dinner. At first I thought he was lazy, but then I realized he was right. He gets more meals on the table with the same money, and honestly his soups taste fine. Has anyone else switched back to store-bought after swearing off it?

$2 a batch" doesn't add up right, bones and veg scraps are basically free if you save them.

Huh, I actually read something about that the other day. Someone broke down how if you're buying bones and veggies just for stock it's more, but yeah, if you're just saving scraps it's pretty much free after the first batch. Do you save veggie ends in the freezer too?
