My uncle in Toledo bet me $20 I couldn't eat on $3 a day, so I did it for a week
He said nobody under 30 knows how to stretch a grocery dollar anymore, which bugged me since I'm 27. I spent $21 at a Aldi in Toledo on rice, dried beans, eggs, frozen spinach, and bananas, and ate beans and rice with a fried egg most nights. The weird part was I felt better by day 5 and my grocery bill dropped from $70 to $21 a week. Anyone else get guilted into a cheap eating challenge by a relative, and what did you actually cook?
