Rant: my $15 rice cooker died mid pot last Tuesday and I had to finish the rice in a regular pot
I was cooking a big batch of rice for the week on Tuesday night when my cheap rice cooker just quit on me, so I dumped everything into a pot on the stove and babysat it for 20 minutes instead. Turns out the stove rice came out fluffier than the cooker ever did, and now I feel dumb for leaning on that $15 gadget for 3 years. Did anyone else ditch an appliance after it broke and realize the old school way was better all along?
