Last Tuesday in my studio apartment, I tried to speed-boil lentils for a budget curry and forgot the lid, so the pot erupted like a science fair volcano and sent foam across the stove, onto the floor, and into my roommate's open laptop, but the curry was still edible and I saved $14 by skipping takeout, so has anyone else had a cheap staple go completely haywire mid-cook?
