Used to buy bags of frozen veggies for every meal, now I just grab whatever's marked down at the produce stand.

For about two years I'd toss a big bag of frozen broccoli and peas into my cart every week, thinking it was the only way to save. Then last month I noticed bruised bell peppers and slightly soft tomatoes at the farmer's market for half the price. Has anyone else found that dented or ugly produce actually works just as well for stir fries and soups without the freezer burn?

Yeah man, welcome to the ugly produce club. I've been buying those dented apples and weird shaped zucchinis for months now and they taste the same as the pretty ones, maybe even better since they're usually riper. You end up saving enough money to buy a coffee or two each week, which feels like a small victory against the grocery store pricing game. Just watch out for the bell peppers though, some of those marks are hiding mushy spots that'll ruin your stir fry.
