Frozen veggie bags vs fresh packs, one is secretly cheaper per pound
I tracked my grocery receipts for 2 months in Chicago and the frozen broccoli bag cost $1.89 per pound against $2.75 for the fresh pre-cut, plus zero waste, so has anyone else ditched fresh for frozen on stir-fry nights or am I just cheap for real?
That "zero waste" point is huge and it's the part most people skip when they do the math. Frozen broccoli doesn't rot in the crisper after three days, so you're not tossing half a bag every week like I used to with fresh. I switched for stir-fry a while back and never looked back, the texture holds up fine once it hits a hot pan.
