Had a sous chef tell me to salt my pasta water like the sea... I was way off

He said 'salt it until it tastes like the ocean' and I only threw in a pinch for years. First time I actually followed his advice the pasta had flavor all the way through, not just on the surface. Anybody else get this tip way later than they should have?

@wadeg92 What made you actually decide to try it then? Was it a specific moment or just curiosity getting the best of you? I always wonder how many people actually commit versus just talk about it.
