Unpopular opinion: I served a dish with a minor flaw to a regular

The steak was slightly overdone, but the customer is a loyal patron who never complains. I sent it out anyway, and now I'm torn. Do you ever let small mistakes slide for good customers?

Honestly, I've been there before. Once served a soup that was too salty to a regular who never complains. I debated remaking it but sent it out anyway. They noticed but just asked for extra bread next visit. It's a judgment call with good customers. Small mistakes can slide if they're not big deals.

Spot how that trust with regulars builds grace for small slips, @angelajohnson. Makes you wonder where else that quiet understanding shows up in daily life, right?

Wait but that's kind of risky though. I mean what if that one salty soup is the thing that finally makes them stop coming back? Good customers are the ones you really can't afford to lose. Idk, maybe it's better to just fix the mistake right away so they know you care about getting it right for them. Letting it slide feels like taking them for granted a little bit, even if they're nice about it.
