I always used a standard brush for my 8-inch flues, but after trying a poly brush on a job in Springfield last month, the difference was night and day.

My old foreman in Dayton swore by poly brushes for anything over six inches. He said the bristles flex better on those older, uneven clay liners. I was skeptical until I saw how much less dust it kicked back into the room. It just seems to conform to the flue walls without needing as much elbow grease.

My crew still laughs at my first poly brush disaster, @wood.zara.

Did that old liner hold up better with the poly brush over time, or did it still need frequent touch-ups after a few seasons?
