PSA: found out why my brush bristles were shedding on a job in Boise last Tuesday
I was sweeping a flue on a 1920s house off State Street and noticed handfuls of bristles coming off a brush I bought back in April, so I called the maker and the guy asked what I was storing it in. Turns out I had been laying it flat in the truck bed where it sat in old creosote dust and damp rags, and he said that softens the base over time. Do you all hang your brushes or is laying them flat fine as long as they stay dry?
