Tried a new creosote remover spray against my old powder and the difference was huge
I used a gallon of ChimneySaver Pro spray on a really bad buildup in a brick fireplace in Akron, let it sit overnight like the label said. The next day, the creosote just wiped off with a brush, while my old powder mix took two passes and a lot more scraping. Has anyone else switched to a liquid treatment and seen it cut down on job time?

Yeah, that overnight soak is the key like @gonzalez.wesley said. Once you switch you won't go back to the powder.

Saw a video last week where a guy tested three different creosote cleaners on some old stovepipe. The liquid spray absolutely smoked the powdered stuff, just like you said. It looked like the liquid soaks in deeper and breaks up the glaze. I'm still using up my old powder can, but my next order is definitely going to be for a spray. That overnight set time seems to do all the hard work for you.

So did you try the spray yet, or are you still burning through that powder like I am... @ben402 mentioned the overnight soak does the work for you, which makes me wonder if the liquid actually eats through that hard baked-on stuff better. I've got a spot on my stovepipe that the powder barely touched last season, and I'm thinking the spray might finally get rid of it. What kind of pipe are you running, anyway?
