Vent: old timer at the supply house in Tulsa got me to stop brushing top down
Was picking up rods last Tuesday and this guy named Ray who has been sweeping for 31 years saw me loading up and asked how I run a flue. I said top down like I always have and he just shook his head and showed me a photo on his phone of a crease he said top down brushing never touches. Tried his bottom up pass on two jobs in Broken Arrow this week and pulled out way more soot than I expected, probably a full cup extra on the first one. Anyone else switch methods like this or am I late to something everybody already knows?
