Wasted $80 on a rotary brush kit for my chimney
Figured it'd save time on a heavy creosote job. Stupid thing snapped after 3 uses. The cable twisted up and the brush head flew off. Had to go back with a manual rod and hand brush anyway. Done with those gimmicks. Anyone else have better luck with a specific brand?

Jeez, I had a similar thing happen with a drill attachment for cleaning gutters.

Four times now I've bought something that promised to make a dirty job easier and it broke before the job was done. That gutter drill attachment Gavin mentioned stripped out on me too. The pattern I see is these tools are designed to work great for the first 5 minutes of a YouTube video but fall apart under real use with actual gunk. Stick with the manual rod and brush, it's slow but it actually gets the creosote off without turning into a flying hazard.
