Bought a $40 compost bin from the hardware store and it actually works better than the fancy one

I was pretty skeptical about the cheap tumbler style compost bin from Home Depot after reading reviews online. But I've been using it for 3 months in my backyard in Austin and it breaks down kitchen scraps way faster than the $200 unit I had before. Has anyone else found that simpler designs just work better for small scale composting?

Wait, are we really out here comparing $40 bins to $200 ones like it's some kind of compost competition?

Ain't it funny how the simplest stuff often works the best? I see it all the time where people overcomplicate things that don't need to be that fancy. Sometimes the basic version just gets the job done without all the extra bells and whistles.
