Can we talk about the day our town's solar project finally went live?
After two years of planning, our local co-op flipped the switch on a 50-kilowatt community solar array last Tuesday. Seeing the real-time power generation on the town hall's display screen made all the volunteer hours feel worth it. Has anyone else been part of a local project that just clicked into place?

Simple, clear win" reminds me of that article on public compost bins.

That public compost bin thing was actually pretty wild lol. Our city tried something similar a few years back and people ended up throwing all sorts of weird stuff in there like old shoes and takeout containers. The whole idea of making things visible and simple sounds great until you realize people will still find ways to mess it up. I remember someone tossed a whole rotting pumpkin in there and it just sat there for weeks smelling terrible. But the power display thing is different since it's actually giving back something tangible. Still makes me laugh thinking about that compost bin though.

Honestly, that real-time display is such a smart move. It makes the whole thing feel real, you know? Like it's not just some abstract idea anymore, it's actual power for the library or the streetlights. Makes me wonder what other town projects could use that kind of simple, clear win to get people on board.
