I saved $45 a month on my electric bill just by swapping to LED bulbs in my apartment in Denver

I finally counted all 14 bulbs in my place and swapped them out one Saturday afternoon, and my bill dropped from $98 to $53 the next cycle - has anyone else noticed that big of a difference or was I just running really wasteful old lights?

You mentioned the lights run a lot in winter - was that $35 savings in a month where you were already running the heat a ton, or does that factor in just lighting costs?

My house had a mix of old incandescents and CFLs before I got curious and tried LEDs. I swapped 11 bulbs in my living room and kitchen and my bill dropped by about $35 that first month. I honestly used to think it was all hype, but that hard proof on the bill changed my mind real quick. Denver winters get dark early so the lights run a lot too, which makes the savings even bigger over time.
