I used to just toss my takeout containers in the trash without thinking twice

After seeing a video of a turtle tangled in plastic straws off the coast of Florida last month, I switched to bringing my own containers to restaurants for leftovers. Has anyone else had a specific moment that made them change a trash habit?

Not to be that person but I think people are REALLY overreacting here. @alicea26 is right, one viral clip doesn't need to change how we handle everything overnight. It's like people see one sad story and suddenly forget all the other data that exists. Turtles have been around for millions of years and they're fine, that's just nature doing its thing. Sometimes I wonder if folks just want something to freak out about instead of looking at the bigger picture. So yeah, pump the brakes a little bit.
