I used to think electric cars were just for rich people, but then I ran the numbers on a used Chevy Bolt
After seeing a 2017 Bolt for $14k with 40k miles and doing the math on gas vs electricity in my area, I realized I'd save about $1,200 a year in fuel costs alone. Has anyone else switched to an EV after looking at the math instead of the hype?

Oh wow, that's basically the exact same math I did last year! I picked up a used Nissan Leaf for around $11k and my electric bill only went up about $30 a month while I stopped spending $150 on gas. The biggest surprise was how much cheaper maintenance is too no oil changes or timing belts to worry about.
