I watched my neighborhood go solar and the change was wild in just 2 years

About 3 years ago only 2 houses on my block had panels. Now I count 14 roofs with them, including my own. HOA stopped fighting it after the first 5 installs went through without issues. My electric bill dropped from $140 a month to about $35 on average. Has anyone else seen their street flip this fast once people realized the savings were real?

Man, that's awesome! Same thing happened on my street too. We went from like 3 solar houses to about 15 in the span of a year and a half. My neighbor was the first one to put them up and we all kind of laughed at first, then he showed us his bill and we shut up real quick. My summer bills went from like $180 to $40 and I actually get a check from the utility company a couple times a year now. It's crazy how fast people get on board once they see the numbers with their own eyes.

So did your neighbor just casually flex with that utility check or did he frame it? Because that's a power move I could get behind. I had the same thing happen here where the first guy on our block got them and we all thought he was either rich or nuts. Then he hit us with the "my bill is negative" line and the floodgates opened. Now we've got a group chat just to compare monthly generation numbers, which is either peak nerd or peak practical, I haven't decided which yet.
