My town's recycling program just stopped taking glass and I've got 3 bins of jars sitting in my garage
Found out two weeks ago that our curbside pickup in Fort Wayne quietly stopped accepting glass, no notice, just a little sticker on the bin when I went to lug it out. Back when I started recycling in like 2011, I felt good about every jar I rinsed, and now I'm driving 20 minutes to a drop off that's only open Saturdays. My garage is stacked with maybe 40 jars right now, and my wife keeps joking we could start a candle business. I get that glass is heavy and the sorting is a pain, but it feels like a step backwards for a program that used to be simple. Anyone else in a city that ditched glass, and did you find a drop off that actually stuck around?
