Saw a solar co-op sign in Boise, wish more towns did this

Drove through Idaho last month and a community solar sign on the highway made me pull over, they're pooling 80 households to buy panels together, has anyone here joined one of these co-ops and was the savings real?

Honestly those co-ops sound great on paper but the savings math never works out once you factor in maintenance and the fact that panels degrade. The 80 households part is the red flag too, more people means more arguments about who pays when something breaks.
