Switched from a gas mower to a push reel one this spring and the quiet mornings are just... better.
After spending $150 on gas and oil last summer, I borrowed my neighbor's old reel mower for a week and realized my lawn looked just as good without the fumes or noise, so has anyone else made a switch that felt surprisingly simple?

Surprisingly simple" is right... I used to think reel mowers were for tiny perfect lawns or people who hated themselves. But the quiet and not dealing with gas cans really changed my mind on that.

I always pictured reel mowers as a chore from a bygone era. The quiet and the lack of engine maintenance have completely won me over, though. It turns a noisy job into a peaceful morning routine.
