Thought those 'green' power strips were just a cash grab until my bill dropped
My partner bought a smart power strip that cuts power to devices on standby, and I rolled my eyes at the $35 price tag. We plugged it into our entertainment center in the living room, which had a game console, sound bar, and TV all drawing phantom load. After three months, our electric bill was $12 lower on average. I had to admit it actually works. Anyone else have a small change that added up like that?

So did you notice the drop right away, or was it more of a slow creep over those three months?

$12 a month? That's a whole video game subscription just gone from your bill. I always figured those things saved like a dollar, maybe two. My sound bar has a stupid little blue light that never turns off, maybe it's time to check what that's actually costing me.
