TIL swapping my old gas mower for a reel mower cut my Saturday yard work to 40 minutes
My 12 year old gas mower died back in April and I almost replaced it with another one for $280. Then my neighbor Dana let me try her reel mower on my small yard in Dayton. Took me 40 minutes instead of an hour and a half, no gas, no oil, no fumes, and my arms got a workout. The only catch is you can't let the grass get too tall or it just folds over instead of cutting. Anyone else made this switch, and how do you deal with the tall spots after a rainy week?
