Update: I was rinsing my recycling for 2 years before a guy at the Eugene transfer station set me straight
He said the stuff only needs to be scraped clean, not spotless, and all my extra rinsing was wasting about 40 gallons of hot water a month. Does anyone know if that rule holds at other drop off spots or is it just a local thing?
