Week of biking to work in Austin changed my commute math

I drove for years and always figured the bus was slower, but I tried biking the 4 miles up South Congress last week. Turns out it's 22 minutes door to door, same as my car at rush hour, and I skip the $9 parking garage. Has anyone else found their old assumptions about commute time were off once they actually measured a few different ways?
