Always ran G54 on every job. Just learned why that's a bad habit.

Saw a guy at a shop in Detroit wreck a $4,000 fixture because he forgot to shift his work offset after swapping vises. He used G54 like always. That convinced me to set separate G54 through G59 for each setup instead. Anyone else run multiple offsets or just me?

Had a buddy who snapped a $500 endmill cause he forgot to flip his G54 after a vise change, man.

Did you ever have one of those days where you just stand there staring at the chip load calculator like it personally offended you? Tbh I've definitely scrapped a few tools myself when I was in a hurry and didn't think straight.

Yeah the "offended calculator" thing is dead on. I swear mine judges me when I'm tired.
