Drop a cool grand on a tool and it sits in the drawer forever

I bought a $950 Mitutoyo CMM probe kit about two years ago thinking I'd use it for every job. Ran maybe 30 parts with it total, now it just collects dust because most of my work doesn't need that level of precision. Anyone else got a high-dollar piece of gear they barely touch?

Oh man, I totally feel you on this one. I dropped like $800 on a really nice torque wrench set a few years back thinking I'd need it all the time, and now it just sits in the case looking pretty. Used it maybe four times total, and each time I could have gotten away with my old one if I'm being honest. It's almost painful to look at the thing sitting there knowing how much I spent on it. The worst part is I can't even bring myself to sell it because I keep thinking "what if I need it someday.

Man, $800 is a lot for a torque wrench but are we acting like that thing is haunting you every time you walk by the garage? @morganhayes its a tool not a ghost. Just use the old one and keep the fancy one for bragging rights at the cookout.
