Old school vs. CAM software for basic 2D parts
I used to hand-code every simple profile cut on our old Haas, but now I just sketch it in Fusion 360 and hit post. When did everyone else stop writing G-code by hand for simple stuff, or are some of you still doing it the old way with a calculator?

...and honestly, hand-coding those simple 2D toolpaths is a waste of time now. CAM does in ten seconds what took me twenty minutes with a calculator and a lot of double-checking. Unless you're on some ancient machine that can't read a standard file, there's just no reason to bang out G-code by hand for basic stuff.

Honestly, I have to ask - which kind of sicko is using a calculator for simple 2D profiles when they've got Fusion right there? That's wild.
