Shoutout to the $400 coolant filtration unit I bought last year
It was a big chunk of change for a small shop, but after a month my tool life on aluminum parts jumped by about 30 percent. The machine just runs cleaner and the sump stays clear for way longer. Has anyone else seen a good return on a specific piece of maintenance gear?

That "tool life on aluminum parts jumped by 30 percent" is exactly the kind of thing I needed to hear. I always saw those units as a luxury for bigger shops. But if it keeps the sump clean and saves that much on tools, it stops being a cost and starts paying for itself.
