Update: I was looking at an old program from 2008 on a floppy disk today.

It was for a simple bracket, and the code was three times longer than it needs to be now. We had to write out every single canned cycle back then. Anyone still have a machine that can even read a floppy?

Remember when a disk error meant real panic.

Oh man, @the_ryan, I just read something about how those old disk errors could actually physically damage the drive heads if the disk was dirty or misaligned! People really don't realize how fragile that whole setup was.

Found a box of old 3.5 inch disks in my dad's garage last year. My current laptop doesn't even have a drive that can read them, which feels weird to say. The file sizes were so tiny back then, you could fit a whole program on one.
