Had a chat with a 15 year old that changed how I learn code
I was helping my nephew (he's 15) with his Python homework last weekend and he showed me how he uses AI to explain each line of code as he writes it. He said 'you don't need to memorize everything, just understand enough to ask the right questions.' It hit different because I've been stuck on tutorials for 6 months trying to remember every function name. Has anyone else switched up how they learn since AI tools got good?

Isn't it wild how much learning has changed even from when we were teenagers? Your nephew basically figured out that knowing how to find an answer is just as important as knowing the answer itself. I've started doing the same with random stuff like fixing my car or cooking new recipes, just getting the gist and googling the details as I go.

My nephew asked me how to change a tire last week. I just handed him my phone and told him to look it up on YouTube. He had it done in like 15 minutes. That's how I handle most stuff now too. I don't memorize recipes anymore, I just get the basic idea and search for the rest when I'm in the middle of cooking.
