Burned my hand on a French press, now I'm team pour over
I was at my kitchen counter in Denver around 7am last Tuesday, grinding beans like usual, when the plunger on my old French press gave out mid-squeeze. Hot coffee shot up and splashed across my palm, which smarted for hours and made me spill half the brew on my new white sneakers. That 3 second failure made me rethink my whole morning routine, so I dug out my roommate's V60 cone and tried a slow pour with a gooseneck kettle I borrowed from a coworker. The difference in clean taste was obvious, even with the same beans I'd been using all winter. Plus, cleanup takes half the time since there's no metal mesh to scrub. Has anyone else switched methods after a gear mishap, or am I just clumsy enough to be converted?}
